Group Class

If you are a student who feels overwhelmed, procrastinates, doodles to stay awake in class, or is frustrated with so many strategies that feel like more work - you’re in the right place.

What can I expect in a class?

The goal of each class is to learn new mindfulness strategies, practice them, and then integrate them into day-to-day life.

Just like going to a gym to strengthen our physical health, we need classes to strengthen our emotional health!

Together, we’ll explore movement, breath, sensory experiences, affirmations, meditation, and journaling.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Licensed Occupational therapist with specialized training in adapted yoga, sensory processing, and emotional regulation. I am trauma-sensitive. ADHD rehab provider. I also have ADHD and understand the need for emotional wellness tools for everybody. I am passionate about social & emotional wellness, accessibility, and empowering young people to navigate life without feeling overwhelmed.

  • Please email me if you cannot make it to the class so can explore make-up options. If you know you’ll miss because of a preplanned event (like Spring Break), let me know as soon as possible.

  • A Zoom link is sent twice, a day before and 10 minutes before, to the email you provided when signing up. Please check your spam or junk mail first if you don’t see it in your inbox.

  • Nope! All classes are LIVE. If you’re like me, knowing you have an option to do it later is a recipe for procrastination. I want this to be successful, so I won’t add one more thing to your to-do list.

After each class, I will send an email with a tip or a short video to help practice during the week.

  • Whatever you’re wearing that day, you can wear to class. We will be moving but not sweating.

  • My adapted yoga training allows me to share mindfulness tools with people who have physical disabilities, challenges with balance, and poor coordination. I do not yet have experience adapting classes for visual impairments, but I trust we can figure that out together to ensure this class works for you.

  • If you’re hungry and forgot to eat, grab a light snack before class. It’s best to wait till after class to eat a full meal.

  • Sensory-Aware acknowledges that each one of you learns and processes the world in different ways. It means that mindfulness is supportive when it offers touch, taste, smell, hearing, proprioception, movement & interoception with awareness and alternatives.

A sensory-aware class understands that some people love the feeling of folding forward, while others may immediately lose balance or maybe feel queasy later on.

  • Being a trauma-sensitive occupational therapist means understanding that each and every person has their own experiences and emotions that can arise, sometimes unexpectedly. I encourage you to listen to your body and do what’s best for you. Language in this course will be sensitive and not always perfect. Please contact me if I need to change anything to create a safer and more comfortable experience for you.

  • I will provide a tip or short video to help you practice outside of class, but there are absolutely no requirements except to show up each week.

  • Yoga is great for focus and stress and we’ll explore some movements but only for 5-10 minutes. A traditional yoga class is 45-90 min. If you would like to do more, I can help you find a class that’s a good fit in your area.

  • For unfamiliar movements, using a colorful hand or foot mat can provide a stronger visual guide for coordination.

I may also use a visual schedule to set expectations and clarity. For some, this allows for a more empowering and stress-free experience.

  • Creating a customized plan for your club, home, or school is a definite YES. We can do this virtually or in person, depending on location. Contact me to chat about options.
